One Instance of an Adoption Conversation With a Perfect Stranger....

Back when I was searching, one bit of advice more experienced searchers gave me was never to tell anyone I wanted help from that I was adopted.

Genealogists are people with noble causes.  Adoptees are people who just can't leave things be.

  2. Sadly, you get the same conversation if you are a mother looking for your child's records - even if they are adults.....

  3. The main advice I got when I started looking for my daughter was to not tell anyone that I was searching for her. How crazy is that?!
